Having just received his medal for working 10 years with Middleby UK, Michael has grown his role from being an apprentice to a full-time and core member of our team. Let’s learn a bit more about him…
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born and live in Liverpool but was living in Warrington at the time I first joined Middleby UK, then based at Woolston, and began my career as an apprentice within the Service department at the ripe old age of 18. I have spent my entire working life with Middleby UK transitioning from an apprentice to a full-time member of the Service team – now moving into Purchasing. During my time here I have picked up various responsibilities – ranging from the processing of all warranty claims to the managing of spare parts stock and supply; as of this year I will be taking over procurement responsibilities for the whole company!
What’s your favourite thing about working at Middleby UK?
The friendship and support of all the staff who work for the company – they really are like a second family.
How long have you been at Middleby?
10 years as of March!
What’s your favourite product?
It is difficult to choose just one but I do always enjoy hearing from customers who have working Blodgett ovens that are older than me – the saying ‘Built like a Blodgett’ really does hold its merit!
What do you get up to outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy spending as much of my free time as possible with my fiancée Lucy and our 4 year old son Teddy; I also enjoy my football and support Everton FC for all my sins.
And finally, just for fun, what’s your favourite food?
I love a chicken curry.
Thanks Michael, it’s been really great to learn more about you and hear more about your journey with Middleby UK!
